Director Human Resources - Global

This exceptional Canadian business located in Toronto is looking for a key leader in their People & Culture team.

Due to their fast-paced growth and continued global expansion the company is now hiring a Global Director of Human Resources to act as a strategic HR partner for the corporate office, administrative and retail teams globally. Leading, developing and inspiring a global HR team, this is the perfect opportunity for an experienced business-oriented, strategic and innovative HR leader to embrace a culture of diversity & inclusion and champion employee engagement activities while further developing a great working environment. This role is critical to the continued development of the global teams by managing key HR projects end-to-end and providing thought leadership and strategic guidance.

As an experienced people leader, the Global Director will provide consultative support in areas of change management, teambuilding, conflict resolution, performance management, progressive discipline, talent management, talent acquisition, compensation planning, and employee development. This is an opportunity to support leaders and people managers with talent planning, organizational design and align with long term business strategies. Partner and collaborate with people managers as well as leaders in People & Culture across L&D, Total Rewards and Talent Acquisition.  Contribute to the development of the company culture and actively participate in the deployment of the employer brand.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
 
  • Education in Human Resources or another relevant field OR equivalent work experience.
  • CHRL or equivalent designation is an asset.
  • 7+ years of people management and /or leadership experience, building a high-performance culture and team.
  • Experience supporting a global or North American business in a growing, progressive and fast paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations and the ability to appropriately identify employment/labor law issues.
  • Strong business acumen as a proactive leader with the ability to consult, advise and collaborate with stakeholders when executing key initiatives. Solid project management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills, especially in situations that are sensitive, complex, and/or ambiguous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with proven success establishing collaborative relationships with individuals at all levels and in all parts of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and various word processing programs
