Our client, a family owned entrepreneurial business, designs and develops technology that drives engineering and electronics devices for brand name clients. They are Canadian based with global operations, including R&D, sub-assembly, distribution and sales. They partner with their clients to provide the highest level of quality and technical support, continuous innovation and engineering of technically advanced products.

As the business grows, they have identified a need for a Chief Operating Officer to join the leadership team and provide expertise to grow the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and people to accommodate the transformation objectives of the organization. Working alongside the owners, provide support and guidance cross-functionally to implement long-term business strategies. 
  • Oversee day-to-day operations' plans and procedures, controlling costs across all operations and projects
  • Measure effectiveness and efficiency of internal and external processes, bringing a mindset of continuous improvement and compliance 
  • Identify new opportunities for the business including new partners in design and manufacturing
  • Assume responsibilities currently managed by the owners, providing new direction and support in decision making
  • Team leadership including developing succession plans, training and providing challenging career development 

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you will possess the following:
  • Undergrad degree in a technical field, ideally possessing an Engineering license/designation
  • 20+ years progressive experience in manufacturing or sub-assembly/distribution industries with 10 years in a senior leadership role
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, owner-managed environment with excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Big picture thinker contributing to the growth/transformation of a business with a "roll up your sleeves" mentality
