Head of Cash Planning & Analysis

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
Date Posted: 09-14-2018
Our client, Ceridian, is a NYSE- and TSX-listed global human capital management (HCM) software company. Dayforce, their flagship cloud HCM platform, provides human resources, payroll, benefits, workforce management, and talent management capabilities in a single solution. Their platform helps companies manage the entire employee lifecycle, from recruiting and onboarding, to paying people and developing their careers. Ceridian provides solutions for organizations of all sizes, from small businesses to global organizations.  Ceridian’s brand promise is “Makes Work Life Better.”

Ceridian delivers on that promise by living their core values every day, which are customer focus, transparency, diligence, optimism, and agility. They have been recognized with many awards for their business approach and culture, including Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2018; Glassdoor Best Places to Work 2018 (Employees Choice); Canada's Most Admired CEO 2017; and Great Place to Work Certified 2017.

The Head of Cash Planning & Analysis (CP&A) is a newly created position, to be located at Ceridian's head office in Toronto reporting directly to the CFO.  The organization has a robust Treasury function, which manages cash positions, short-term and long-term investments, and trust accounts for payroll being processed for clients.  The Head of CP&A will work closely with this group, and take responsibility for all modelling, forecasting, budgeting, reconciliation, and analysis of cash positions and investment opportunities.  This analysis will support the Investor Relations and Accounting functions.

Think of the symbiotic relationship between a Controller's function and a strong Financial Planning and Analysis team, and you will have a good model of the objective here: to build a forward-looking and proactive management function for a critical resource of the organization, while working closely with the team that manages the day-to-day operations and accounting.  Strong performance in this role will allow you to have significant influence and impact on corporate results, and maximize the return to Ceridian on one of its largest assets.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • A Master’s degree in finance, business or management and relevant designations (CPA and/or CTP)
  • Deep and broad experience in traditional financial planning and analysis, including model development and integration with information systems
  • Excellent variance analysis and investigation skills
  • An understanding and experience with cash management challenges including maximizing return on float and choosing of appropriate investment and/or debt vehicles
  • Strong collaboration, communication and influence skills across various levels and departments of the organization

If this sounds like you, and you are ready to take on the creation of a significant new role in an entrepreneurial, growing and award-winning organization, we want to hear from you!
