Are you a senior finance professional looking to be part of the management team leading a fast-growing company developing technology to create breakthroughs in medical diagnostics? If so, our client, a rapidly growing venture-backed mid-staged growth company in the medical technology space is now looking for their first CFO to help them scale to the next level.  
 
The Chief Financial Officer will be a member of the senior executive team and will have a key strategic leadership role in the overall success of the company, partnering directly with the President/CEO. The CFO will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities with frequent communications to the Board of Directors and Shareholders.
 
As the hands-on CFO who can both roll-up their sleeves and think big-picture, you will position the company for imminent liquidity by seeking and leading discussions with potential investors and/or acquirers; perform all Investor Relations duties with external shareholders; direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting function of the organization, including its US and European subsidiaries. Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidations and reporting to the Company, Board of Directors and external shareholders. Evaluating and advising on the impact of long range planning, plus introduction of new programs and strategies is another key function. Leveraging analysis and data to identify opportunities to unlock value and efficiencies within the company’s operations.
 
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following;
  • Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA)
  • Experience with scaling an early-stage capital equipment growth company to cash flow positive
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in a fast-paced and growing environment, experience in healthcare, life sciences and medtech is an asset
  • Experience working with or as a part of a senior leadership team with exposure to the Board of Directors and external shareholders
  • Experience working and implementing new ERP/IT systems, with a proven capability of optimizing systems for improved financial flows, reporting and analysis
  • Highly proficient in Excel with an ability to develop complex financial models
  • Excellent communication skills; extremely organized and detail oriented; positive attitude, self-motivated and has a high-sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines
  • Mature, proactive and takes initiative to work as a true business partner with the management team
