Chief Information Officer

Our client is a reputable cannabis manufacturer and distributor. The company has helped numerous cannabis growers and dispensaries fine-tune their business operations and maximize their investments. The company has expanded exponentially through multiple acquisitions with a reverse takeover process underway. To date, the company has 12 wholly owned brands, 190,000 square feet of distribution & manufacturing facilities, 150 staff members and is supporting over 700 dispensaries. We are looking for a Chief Information Officer to join the company as an integral member of the executive team. This challenging CIO role is responsible for formulating policy, developing strategies and implementation plans, and directing activities to ensure efficient, profitable, and secure operations of Systems Development, Information and Technology. Additionally, this role develops key partnerships with the broader organization and strategic partners and will be responsible for developing an overall strategy to integrate systems and technologies to meet both customer and business needs.
 
Position Priorities:
  1. Strategy & Business Planning. As a key member of the Leadership Team, the CIO is responsible for assessing technology efficiencies, reducing cost of systems, delivery, scalability, and adoption. The CIO will also assess competitive activities and emerging market trends to drive innovation developing system strategies and infrastructure which may extend to strategic partners
  2. Post M&A Integration. The CIO is responsible to integrate the various IT systems of the acquired companies and ensure the most suitable tools and systems are implemented on the corporate platform.
  3. Leadership. The CIO will hire and build a high-performing IT team, tailored to the strategic plan and business needs. The CIO will provide cross-functional leadership and facilitation across the organization to establish a solid technology structure.


In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • A seasoned professional in a similar IT leadership role within a growing company, 3 years preferably as a CIO or head of IT, as well as a minimum of 15 years direct experience in technology.
  • Experience with fast-paced growth startups as well as large/corporate organizations ideally, prior experience with post M&A integration is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and develop relationships at multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience with managing a fully functional IT organization, including but not limited to Infrastructure, Network and Operation, Applications (including ERP and CRM).
  • Experience in beverage alcohol, pharmaceutical, CPG distribution or manufacturing is required
  • Attention to detail, deadline driven with solid project management expertise. Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
