Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Our client has a strong track record of growth and a commitment to innovation and have established themselves as a leader in their industry. They have grown significantly to their current size and structure with multiple locations in North America, through a combination of strong organic growth and through acquisition. As they continue to expand their operations and take the business to the next level, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team and lead their finance function.

The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting aspects of the company's operations and providing strategic financial guidance to support their growth objectives. The CFO will lead and expand the existing finance team and collaborate cross-functionally to drive financial performance, improve processes, optimize data and systems adding value as a business partner.

Ways in which you will add-value and directly contribute are:

 
  • Provide day-to-day financial operations leadership.
  • Manage a team providing coaching and mentoring fostering a high-performance culture promoting continuous learning and career development.
  • Collaborate with executive and senior leadership teams to develop and execute the company’s long-term business and financial strategy, including M&A, integrations and change management initiatives.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial and management reporting with insights and guidance to support departmental decision making; optimizing systems to leverage rich data.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes aligning with the company’s objectives.
  • Take ownership of transfer pricing initiatives and execution of programs in a multi-currency, multi-entity, multi-country environment.
  • Manage corporate and commodity tax planning and reporting, manage cash-flow and treasury strategies and processes.
  • Deepen relationships with financial institutions, auditors and other stakeholders.

Qualifications in order to be considered:
 
  • CPA designation required coupled with a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or related.
  • 10+ years progressive track record with proven experience as a CFO/VP Finance leading a team and contributing across a business.
  • Mid-sized, owner managed company experience coupled with larger company best practices expertise preferred.
  • Industry experience from distribution, logistics, inventory and warehousing an asset.
  • Solid technical accounting and finance expertise, experience with M&A, capital raising and strategic financial planning.
  • Exceptional people leadership capabilities, ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the company.
  • Data analytics driven, problem solver, strategic and tactical, attention to detail.
  • Proficient with financial and ERP systems, advanced Excel skills
