Our client, Organigram, began as one of Canada’s first and largest medical cannabis companies and has now moved into the adult-use recreational market and international markets. Operations are centered in Moncton, NB, while the head office is based in mid-town Toronto, ON. They are preparing for an expansion and they are strengthening the Finance team with this newly created Director of Financial Reporting role which is very important to the company’s success. Reporting directly to the CFO and working out of the Toronto office with the senior leadership team, this is an excellent opportunity to be involved in helping to augment the Finance function and contributing in a meaningful way.

Responsibilities include: Preparation of IFRS consolidated financial statements, including notes to the statements and the MD&A. Responsibility for drafting IFRS position papers and conducting analysis related to M&A transactions for IFRS and accounting impact. Assist with the preparation and reporting of complex transactions, including financial instruments and acquisitions. Assist where required with special projects for reporting purposes or to senior management. Work directly with operational leaders to ensure operations and functional areas are receiving relevant and accurate information to manage their business.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • CPA, CA required - currently in public practice (manager or senior manager) or now in industry with 2-3 years post firm experience.
  • Strong financial statement preparation & financial reporting in IFRS.
  • Proficiency in technical accounting and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering quality work within tight deadlines; strong organization and prioritization skills; and able to communicate financial information across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel; knowledge of accounting/GL software.
  • Willing to travel – 20%
