Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Kew Media Group is a publicly traded media company aspiring to be one of the most significant independent content companies in the world. Their portfolio includes Frantic Films, Jigsaw Productions Awesome Media & Entertainment and Collins Avenue Productions.  They have grown through acquisition and will continue to pursue acquisitions to grow strategically and achieve their vision.
They are interested in hiring a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to support their continued growth.  The Director will leverage their expert modeling skills to support acquisitions, build a flexible budgeting and planning platform and provide support to their strategic growth.  The position reports to the CFO with day-to-day direction from the Senior Vice President, Finance.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Developing a robust business and financial planning process that supports the organizational strategy.
  • Build complex financial models that support planning and business decisions, M&A, financings, new business initiatives and projects.
  • Analyze business results against budget and highlight trends that require action. 
  • Identify and play a key role in resolving risks that could impact results.
  • Devise a set of KPIs and industry benchmarks to drive the analysis and review of the business.
  • Develop relationships across the business, working with the Finance and Operations teams to instill financial management discipline.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • An accounting designation (CPA) is required and an MBA is highly desired.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in a complex, multi-entity/currency environment.
  • Proven ability to develop 3-statement financial models that enable business decisions, M&A activities and projects.
  • Ability to synthesize volumes of data into concise management reports
  • Experience in the media industry is ideal – due to the complexities of how productions are financed and managed.
  • Strong business acumen; strong work ethic; ability to build strong internal relationships.
