This is an exciting mandate for an experienced Human Resources executive to lead the building and strengthening of workforce strategies, partnering throughout the organization with the senior stakeholders to execute the talent agenda and ensure legislative compliance throughout all HR processes across the operations in Canada, the United States and Mexico.

As the strategic leader of human capital, you will be the right-hand person to the CEO supporting the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals. This position will lead and manage all functional aspects of HR and will be responsible for developing comprehensive and best practice HR systems, processes and policies and provide leadership in building a strong culture and employee engagement strategies.

Role responsibilities:
  • Build the talent strategy including recruitment and selection, performance management, succession planning, leadership capability and pipeline strategies
  • Lead continuous improvements to HR policies, processes, employee benefit plans and executive compensation
  • Support evolving operational strategies as a true business partner, influencing and gaining trust and respect across the organization geographically and at all levels
  • Develop solutions which foster and promote an organizational culture that is collaborative, inclusive and diverse.
  • Lead organizational change and provide support to assist employees in adapting to change while continuing to focus on delivering exceptional service within a framework of business accountability.
  • As a member of the senior management team, develop and maintain strong working relationships providing support and coaching senior leaders and the CEO as required.
  • Ensure and deliver HR compliance related to required legislations in each jurisdiction.
  • Develop KPIs and analytics to drive strategic decision making, utilize strong business and financial acumen to analyze and measure the performance of HR initiatives
  • As a leader in the organization, demonstrate commitment, dedication and focus on ensuring an injury free workplace
  • Work with ArcelorMittal Corporate HR and other ArcelorMittal facilities to identify and implement world class HR programs
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • HR related designation with an MA or MBA or equivalent preferred
  • 15+ years experience with a progressive HR career impacting organizations growth and success, developing and executing on corporate strategies and goals
  • Global experience preferred, as is experience from the manufacturing sector
  • Proven experience as an HR business partner, having an operational big picture view
  • Generalist exposure to lead and implement best practices in talent, compensation, policies, training and systems
  • Ability to influence, be assertive and a strategic problem solver comfortable with ambiguity and leading change
