Director, Marketing Communications

Are you a strategic leader in Marketing & Communications who is experienced and passionate about marketing to the government agencies?  Do you seek to work within a supportive, innovative and collaborative culture?  If so please read on.
 
Our client is a leader in the Aerospace and Defense industry looking to hire a Director, Marketing & Communications into their growing business.  You will be responsible for heading up all areas of Marketing & Communications and a team of competent marketers across product marketing, internal & external communications, creative services, digital, social and event functions. Based in the western GTA area, you will develop internal and client facing communications whether it be through traditional, digital or social media channels.  You will need to be strategic while remaining hands-on, build relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels, manage the marketing budget, be innovative and lead a strong team.
 
In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
 
  • Bachelors or above degrees in Business, Marketing or Communications
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a generalist marketing communications role which has involved both traditional and digital methods and at least 5 years in a strategic leadership position
  • Experience and knowledge within the Aerospace and Defense industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience working for a prime government contractor which sells directly to the government is also desired
  • Strong Leader that can lead, coach and mentor, give feedback and create a great working team environment
  • Possessing the mindset of being both strategic and hands-on, appreciates internal workings and can come in and then evolve with the business
  • Collaboration, being trustworthy, flexible and working within their values is key.
