Director, Infrastructure Finance (Head of Canadian Practice)

Farber is partnered with Mazars in the search for a Director, Infrastructure Finance. This role will lead the Canadian Global Infrastructure Finance practice working alongside the Americas lead on the overall region’s strategy. With a team of consultants, the incumbent will lead the growth of the Toronto office by developing stronger relationships with Canadian clients and by launching advisory and valuations services across the Americas. The Director will have existing Canadian client relationships and will lead the growth of the Toronto office across all infrastructure services. The mandate includes winning and delivering financial modeling, model audit, training, advisory and valuation projects across the Americas.

Grow and manage the Toronto office, lead business development activity
  • Develop and follow through on the business plan for Canadian clients and any new services including recruitment, sales, and marketing
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the team and office including developing team members
  • Develop strong relationships with the all global infrastructure teams and key Mazars offices in the Region
  • Build a strategy for developing new business in Canada and more widely across the Americas
  • Proactively grow Mazars’ presence and profile in Toronto, both through general networking and focusing especially on existing or potential key accounts
  • Collaborate across Mazars offices across the Americas to maximise the opportunities for winning mandates in line with the strategy
 
 Responsibility for delivery of advisory and valuation engagements
  • Take the lead in running projects, typically with a portfolio of assignments at any one time, manage multiple parties on complex projects
  • Take responsibility for producing key transaction outputs 
  • Provide financial and commercial commentary on projects, manage project budgets
  • Develop and maintain detailed market and sector knowledge to inform local valuation assignments
 
  In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following:
  • Track record of executing infrastructure and/or energy deals or business modelling projects, with at least 8 years of experience in a comparable organisation – this could be advisory, consulting or lending experience
  • Financial qualification (MBA, CFA or equivalent, or an accounting designation_ would be an advantage, but not a pre-requisite
  • Strong client relationships and knowledge of the Canadian and North American market
  • Experience, knowledge and confidence in leading client engagements
  • Sector expertise in at least one of social infrastructure, transport and energy
  • Adept at problem solving and proven ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment, solid organisational and time management skills, proven commercial and sound business judgement skills
