Manager, International Tax

Our client, Graymont, is an emerging global leader in the supply of lime and limestone product and has roots stretching back almost seven decades.  Serving major markets throughout the United States, New Zealand and Canada, Graymont is North America’s second largest limestone producer.

Due to expansion into the Asia-Pacific regions, Graymont, has an opportunity in their highly valued Tax Department for a Manager, International Tax.  Reporting to the Director of Tax, you will be responsible for international tax planning, advisory, compliance, and provisions.  You will also serve as a strategic business partner to the senior leadership team.

As a key member of the Finance team, the Manager, International Tax will be responsible for preparation and/or review of tax compliance for the international business operations. You will play an integral role in managing and implementing strategies to optimize the group’s overall tax position. You will participate in tax due diligence and planning for M&A and divestitures as well as maintaining the offshore financing structures. You will also identify, research and resolve treaty and income tax issues related to Graymont’s international business operations.

This role will prepare annual income tax provisions and tax disclosures under IFRS, manage the preparation and/or review of international tax returns, review and implement transfer pricing policies, and handle the E&P, surplus and ACB calculations. You will work closely with external tax authorities during the tax audits, stay current on worldwide tax developments and communicate the impact of tax changes on the business.

To be considered for this high-profile role in the organization, you will possess the following:
  • Professional accounting designation
  • Completion of the CICA In-depth tax courses
  • 5+ years of relevant corporate tax experience within a complex, global organization.
  • Knowledge and experience with international and/or US tax
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian foreign affiliates rules
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while under deadline pressure
  • Collaborative, team-player
  • Excellent analytical, technical, research, organizational and communication skills
